Just Clouds and more clouds!!

Here are two pics from a nearby place taken on two different days.

The first one was taken the morning after it heavily rained in Chennai.

The second is from a clear day but I just loved the cloud cast sky and the beautiful colors.

Daily Quote-41

I have been super busy for the entire month and my Daily quotes have just lost track of how many “daily” I have missed already.

Anyways, I’ll be more regular now 🙂

Here’s a great one for today-

“I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The function of man is to live, not to exist.”

– Jack London

Well, I won’t be derogatory towards the planet. I think they are so cool- existing just like our Earth does. However, the point that Jack London tries to make is different.

Be someone who isn’t there just for the sake of being. Not everyone can be a leader or someone’s idol. But if not anyone else, be worthy of your own respect. No one in this world is ordinary. We all have some talent that is burning inside us or is yet to be discovered. Find it, indulge in it and let it take you to greater heights. Be the person who brightens their own and other’s life. At least I aspire to be that person. Make difference in my own little ways and in the end, when it is time to leave, I never want to be remembered as ” that girl we knew”, would rather prefer to live as “the examples that I left behind”.

Shots of beauty!

And I’m back after a long long time with a post. I have stopped counting the number of movie and book reviews I am yet to post!! Have to squeeze some time and cover the backlog!

Below are few pics I clicked last week and I love the shades of evening sky. You probably may get bored of watching them on my page but I just can’t get over it!

Poems that touch your heart-04

By Erin Hanson

You are not your age,

Nor the size of clothes you wear,

You are not a weight,

Or the colour of your hair,

You are not your name,

Or the dimples in your cheeks,

You are all the books you read,

And all the words you speak,

You are your croaky morning voice,

And the smiles you try to hide,

You’re the sweetness in your laughter,

And every tear you’ve cried,

You’re the songs you sing so loudly,

When you know you’re all alone,

You’re the places that you’ve been to,

And the one that you call home,

You’re the things that you believe in,

And the people that you love,

You’re the photos in your bedroom,

And the future you dream of,

You’re made of so much beauty,

But it seems that you forgot,

When you decided that you were defined,

By all the things you’re not.

This is one of the most honest, strongest and beautiful poems that I’ve read in recent times. Never apologize for who you are and don’t define yourself by the metrics that others decide. There is so much to each one of us than just looks, height and weight. We are all talented in our own ways, we own a unique train of thought, have a perspective of own. That’s what defines us!

Peachy Evenings!

Aaaand I’m back with a few more “Before Sunset” pics. 🙂

These were taken from work. The first one was taken from a city bus in Chennai.

Daily Quote-40

“The Best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago.

The second best time is Now”

– Chinese Saying ( Well, let’s just say “Unknown”)

There are so many things I am yet to achieve. I have just started watching movies fervently and writing reviews and I am a very amateur critic. Whenever I discuss movies or books with a friend of mine,Ii realize how much he knows and how less I do. I constantly brood telling him how I wish I were him now. Not that I really wish to turn into him but I rather feel I should have started doing all this long before. Yesterday was one such day again when he shared this quote.

It really inspired me. There is no right or wrong time. Every second can bring a new dimension to your life. Every day is a new beginning. Of course there will always be people better than you, who’re doing well and are already at a position where you want yourself to be.

Keep working towards it, starting now! You never know when you’ll surpass them. Or even if not, who cares as long as you are on the right track!

The Look

Now this is a lousy attempt at poetry! So the poem is partly inspired by a recent movie that i saw- Premam ( Thanks to Uday!)

The poem is not rhyming! I wonder if it still qualifies as a poem. 😛

Anyways, I kept typing this till I finally thought I should end it. Please share your feedback 🙂

I turn around and I see you

It all comes back in a flash

The sweet nothings, the constant giggles

The electrifying touch, the affectionate look

The coffee meetings, the little notes of love

It no longer makes me sad, I’m rather glad

That it happened, and it happened to me.

I turn around and I see you

You look straight at me and move along

Do you even remember me?

But I brush the thought aside

It no longer matters what was and what could have been

All that I should think of is what is

I turn around and I see you

It all comes back in a flash

The day we parted with a kiss

The day you had an accident

The day you forgot that I even exist

I turn around and I see you

You walk away without a second glance

But then, you look around

You stare at me for a moment

And you do something I never thought you would do again ever

You smile… It all begins again!

Daily Quote-39

“There are two kinds of people in this world- Givers and Takers.

The Givers eat well, but the Takers sleep better”

We all have people in our lives who take us for granted, who remember us when they are in need. In some cases, we may also do that to someone else.

Giving and taking is part of life. What is important is to make sure that you contribute to others and the society as a whole. Contribution is not necessarily in material- even good words can make someone’s day better. Offer help whenever someone is in need, even if you don’t know them. When was the last time you helped an old person on the street carry the load or give your seat in the train to someone who deserves more or offer a lift on your way to someone or be considerate towards your maid- treat them as humans and not people who are bound to do the dirty job because they’re paid for it!

The way the world operates now, it is understandable to have doubts in our minds, especially when it comes to helping a stranger who might harm us in any way. But sometimes, it is important to trust and not turn a blind eye towards the needy. Let go of suspicions whenever possible and extend your humanitarian hand.

No matter what we achieve in life- success, fame, money- if you didn’t progress as a human, you haven’t taken a step ahead.

Shades of Sky #2

Daily Quote-38

“Perhaps it is our imperfections that make us so perfect for each other”

– Jane Austen, Emma

I personally don’t know anyone who is perfect. For all I know, I won’t even like someone who is perfect. It is our little imperfections, weaknesses and vulnerabilities that brings us closer to each other. Some you can relate to because you share the same imperfections; while some you don’t yet you complement one another. That’s how life is. That’s how relations are. As they say, your imperfections are marks your authenticity, and that’s the beauty of you.

Stay imperfect, stay beautiful. Don’t worry about people who find fault in you, they have their own to worry about!
