I came across these beautiful lines few days back and couldn’t resist sharing.
“When nothing seems to work, I go look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred time without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow, it will split in two, and I know that it wasn’t the last blow that did it, but all that had gone before.”
Isn’t that just out of the world? Philosophy is something all of us know, at some level, even preach. But the way even these little things are said leaves you awe-inspired.
There are times when I give up, sometimes after a lot of effort and sometimes way too easily. The stonecutter’s analogy just strikes a chord with me. Gives you something to learn from! I am henceforth, never giving up- even if I’m bad at something, I’ll continue doing it till I get better.
here’s one more from Jacob Riis that I loved- “Some defeats are only installments to Victory.”
I know my pics are generally quite bland with no subject. Everytime I decide that I’ll click something else or will have a subject in my pic even if it is of the sky. But I still end up clicking just the sky and the setting sun!!
Next time, may be..
“Difficulties in your life do not come to destroy you but to help you realize your hidden potential and power. Let difficulties know that you too are difficult.”
– Dr, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
There are very few people in this world who are so inspiring- whatever they say are not mere words but experience drawn from their life. A.P.J Abdul Kalam was one such person and he has succeeded in inspiring every individual who had ever heard him speak.
We all face troubles in our lives, situations that set us back. While few are easy to handle; it is difficult to cross over the other side for few others. Some instances in life just make you helpless, things may not always be in your hands. But we have to remember, that even if some problems are not self created, the solution is always what we propose. How we deal with it is what defines us. While running away may help us sometimes, facing it with your head held high will teach you lot of important lessons and it makes you stronger than ever!
Whatever upsets you now, give it time. There’ll come a day when you’ll look back and be glad it happened.
Whatever happens, happens for a reason.
